The mission
We are looking for a hands-on Operator Team Lead to join our Operations team. The position starts as an Operator role, with the ambition to fully transition into the Team Lead role after approximately 6 months of training and onboarding. During this period, you will gain knowledge of our processes while preparing to take on leadership responsibilities.
Key responsibilities as an operator include:
Preparing, operating and monitoring our machines for customer orders and internal development in a clean room environment
Ink mixing as part of the manufacturing process
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
Proactive and reactive maintenance & cleaning
Participate in SOP development and improvement
Additional responsibilities within the team lead position include:
Coordinate operators within the shift, assigning machines and tasks
Act as the go-to person for operators, providing guidance and support
Make real-time decisions to maintain productivity, quality, and safety
Maintain structure and enforce 5S principles on the shop floor
Facilitate communication between operators, engineers, and management
Escalate issues and call in engineers when necessary
Located in Linköping, our brand-new production facility is alongside our headquarters and labs. Our Operations team, led by our Production Manager Maria, currently works a single weekday shift (Monday to Friday), with plans to expand to additional shifts as we scale. With your contribution, we will be able to scale our production further and get closer to our vision of contributing to a world where energy is not a problem.
Who are we looking for?
To excel as an Operator and Team Lead at Epishine, you must have proven work life experience of operating complex manufacturing machinery and processes. Ideally, you have experience of working in an environment where you had to adapt to a lot of changes. It is also highly beneficial if you have experience in shift operations and coordinating small teams through previous experience in a team lead or supervisory role on the shop floor. Relevant education such as production technician, process technician, or an engineering qualifications is very advantageous.
Additional skills and mindsets we are looking for are:
Cognitive and technical ability: you quickly grasp technical concepts and connections across multiple process steps, enabling you to independently troubleshoot and resolve smaller technical issues
Humble: you are a hands-on, humble person who leads by example, supporting your team of operators on the shop floor while ensuring that complex processes run safely, efficiently, and reliably. You have a "can-do-attitude" and a genuine interest in tackling challenges as they arise
Leadership: you have an ability to lead, motivate, and empower others to effectively achieve common goals
Judgement: you weigh information and different considerations, demonstrating good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions
Responsible: you take ownership of tasks and decisions, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time, while proactively addressing issues and maintaining integrity. You work in a structured way, following established processes and SOPs, enforcing standards, and help create order to achieve consistent results.
You must have good computer skills as the role requires daily use of Microsoft Office and other administrative computer systems. Given that Epishine consists of teams with people from all over the world, it is also important that you can communicate fluently and comfortably in English.
